I was advised not to replace my back fender since it provides so much support. (Actually a HD customizer couldn't believe the Savage fender could support a passenger let alone saddlebags). I was referred to him by somebody and I think the only reason he looked at my bike was because I'm a girl. He said he's been in the business for 40 years and has never worked on a Jap bike. I told him I didn't want him to work on it (couldn't afford him anyways), I just wanted his opinion. I talked to the guy that referred me a week later and apparently the HD guy was on the phone with him before I was out of the parking lot (What the .... are you doing referring a Jap bike to me!) He wasn't really mad, I think it was a joke played on him, but I got what I needed. Anyways, he said the best thing to do would be to keep the fender and do body work on it. I can't remember who e-mailed me but he's using the savage fender, cutting the end off and putting the back part of the rebel fender on his bike. It will take alot of hours but saves the support from the savage fender. Another solution is to put another fender over the existing fender. I've seen them sold for HD, not sure if they sell them for other bikes also. If you own a Savage in the USA you have to take parts from other bikes and make them fit! Could end up with a HD with a Big Single! Hope to hear from you soon about parts. Hope AME ships to the USA. Maybe if they don't we can set up a group of us that will ship to the USA (we pay shipping of course) and in return we could ship parts from the USA that are not available in Europe. I can buy the Supertrap for a little over $200 American dollars. I've seen where across their paying more. Don't know if it's American dollars they were quoting though. Keep me posted.
